Training and research |

Initial and continuing training plays a key role in public competitive intelligence policy. For the CI process to lead to appropriate actions, specialists must be trained who are able to carry out competitive intelligence policies in companies and to develop tools for it.
Training for all actors on the one hand, and for a sufficient number of specialists on the other, presupposes major growth in higher education in competitive intelligence. The multidisciplinary character of competitive intelligence and the persistent confusion and mix-ups have made it urgent to find a clear definition of the scope of competitive intelligence training. This has given rise to the constitution of a training repository. Many training programs have been developed on the basis of this repository.

  • Training repository

Initial and continuing training plays a key role in public competitive intelligence policy. Training policy cannot be designed without a common language enabling all involved to understand one another and to share objectives. It is with this in mind that the competitive intelligence training repository was presented to the public on 23 May 2005 by the Senior Director. The fruit of a commission bringing together teachers and researchers, it meets the need expressed by many actors and observers for a clarification of the content and methods of competitive intelligence.

  • CI training

On the basis of the competitive intelligence training repository, two lines of work were adopted, initial training and continuing training, with the same objective : enable the largest possible number of people to use competitive intelligence as a method for analyzing and processing challenges, both from the angle of influence, monitoring and asset protection.

  • Research

The desire to equip France with the best tools and methods for applying competitive intelligence in the coming years gives rise to multiple research needs at the crossroads of the human sciences, linguistics, competitiveness, social sciences, political science, law and information and communication sciences and technologies.
