Previous Activities

After 5 years of service as an officer in parachutist units, then at the SDECE action service, he left the army for civilian life.

From 1967 to 1982, he worked on the international development of the Pernod-Ricard group as an expert zone manager, director of foreign subsidiaries, then director of international development for the group.

After reorganizing Ricard France as general sales manager, he specialized in turning around companies experiencing difficulties, international development and crisis management. His activities abroad have led him to work in 63 countries to date.

In 1985, he became General Manager of Suchard, then Chairman of the Coordinating Committee at Jacobs-Suchard France. In 1989, he joined the Union Laitière Normande as deputy general manager in charge of international development, before taking over as manager of the group in a difficult environment and preparing its sale to Bongrain in 1992. He then spent 5 years as General Manager - Director of Générale Ultra Frais in Rouen, which he turned around before doing the same thing as General Manager of France Champignon in Saumur.

In 2001, he was Chairman of Marks and Spencer France and sold the company while ensuring that all of the personnel found jobs. He also worked in positions of advisor in the field of strategy, crisis management and development for French and foreign companies.

On 1 October 2002 he was appointed Director of Intelligence at the DGSE, then, on 31 December 2003, Senior Director in charge of Competitive Intelligence at the Secretariat General of National Defense (SGDN) by the President of the Republic.
